Job Description:
AR Utilities & Excavation LLC is seeking an experienced Concrete Form Setter to join our growing construction team. We are looking for dependable, hardworking individuals with experience in commercial and civil concrete construction.
The ideal candidate will have experience laying out, building, setting, and stripping concrete forms while maintaining proper elevations, grades, and alignment. Applicants must be able to work independently and as part of a crew to complete projects safely, efficiently, and accurately.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
- Layout, build, set, brace, and strip concrete forms.
- Set forms for sidewalks, curbs, gutters, driveways, foundations, equipment pads, and other concrete structures.
- Establish and maintain proper grades, elevations, slopes, and dimensions.
- Use laser levels, string lines, measuring equipment, and other construction layout tools.
- Install reinforcement materials, including rebar and wire mesh, as needed.
- Assist with concrete placement, screeding, finishing, and curing when necessary.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely.
- Inspect formwork for accuracy, stability, and proper alignment before concrete placement.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Work closely with foremen, superintendents, and other crew members to meet project schedules.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of concrete form-setting experience preferred.
- Experience with commercial, civil, or site concrete construction.
- Ability to read construction plans and understand grades and elevations.
- Proficient with measuring tapes, laser levels, and standard construction tools.
- Knowledge of concrete forming techniques and construction practices.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in outdoor conditions.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work well with others.
- Must have reliable transportation to designated job sites.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- Ability to work overtime and occasional weekends when required.
Preferred Experience:
- Concrete curb and gutter construction.
- Sidewalks, driveways, and commercial flatwork.
- Concrete foundations and equipment pads.
- Civil and underground utility construction.
- Operating skid steers, compactors, and other small construction equipment.
- Experience leading a small concrete crew is a plus.
